Microsoft has confirmed that it will be hiking its pricing for Xbox Game Pass for PC from $4.99 per month to $9.99 a month from 17th September 2020. This comes as it announced its next-gen console plans.

Game Pass members who are already subscribed to the introductory price will still pay the same rate through the next billing cycle. This means that if you subscribe before 17th September 2020, you’ll still pay the same rate. Xbox posted a tweet from its Game Pass handle announcing the increment.

The benefits of the Xbox Game Pass are numerous. It gives players access to any game developed by Microsoft for free the day it’s released, plus numerous third-party games from publishers like Bethesda, Sega, and Deep Silver.

Xbox Game Pass PC will also include EA Play as part of the subscription later this year. This gives members access to a range of games published by Electronic Arts, like Battlefield V, Mass Effect, and The Sims 4, plus 10-hour trials for new releases like FIFA 21.

With Xbox Series X and Series S to launch in November 2020, subscribing before 17th September 2020 makes a lot of sense.
