Has Israel Found The Coronavirus Vaccine? Here Is What We Know

What seems to be a bit of good news in the bleak atmosphere that has engulfed the world is that Israel scientists allegedly move a step closer to developing the first Coronavirus vaccine.

In Northern Israel, researchers have reportedly been running tests on birds infected with the coronavirus. Recently, they have discovered a cure, healing the birds of the virus. They also forecast that this vaccine may be ready for worldwide use within the next three months.

While this is tremendous news, It is wise to take it with a pinch of salt. This is because most of the publications we sourced information from are based in Israel.

Behold Israel, an Israeli news media reported one story on 28th February 2020. According to the report, researchers are hopeful that this solution is viable. This is because as they explain, the ‘genetic structure of birds is similar to that of humans’.

David Zigdon, the Chief Operating Officer of the institute where the research is carried out explained:

“There is a great need for an immediate solution to human infection of coronavirus, and we have been working to do that nonstop. The solution we are developing against COVID-19 virus has proven effective, and we believe a version for human treatment can be ready within eight to 10 weeks.

“That would be followed by a 90-day test period to ensure safety. The treatment we developed for birds is given orally, and the treatment we are developing for humans will also be given orally.”

Another scientist working with The Galilee Research Institute, Dr. Chen Katz, the  biotechnology group leader, also revealed, according to David Harris blog:

“Our basic concept was to develop the technology and not specifically a vaccine for this kind or that kind of virus. The scientific framework for the vaccine is based on a new protein expression vector, which forms and secretes a chimeric soluble protein that delivers the viral antigen into mucosal tissues by self-activated endocytosis, causing the body to form antibodies against the virus.

“Let’s call it pure luck. We decided to choose coronavirus as a model for our system just as a proof of concept for our technology.”

The above-mentioned blog adds a rather radical message as its editor’s note that reads:

“Social media is cracking down on Conservative content. Many of you have complained that you never see our content in your news feeds …

“What delicious irony this is. It appears that the first coronavirus vaccine will be manufactured by the Israeli scientists that invented it.”

This makes it difficult to trust these sources. However, the virus keeps spreading as it has now been confirmed in Africa. The first case is in Lagos and it iinvolves an Italian man who came into the country three days before its confirmation.

Also, in the past, there have been rumours of cures for the coronavirus. But up until date, there is nothing concrete yet.
