Getting the perfect wedding dress can be quite a struggle for some soon to be brides. This is because they already have an idea of the dress they want, but funny enough that dress may not suit their body type.
There is a wedding dress for every body type that will not only accentuate your curves on your big day but also suit your body type. Give no room for confusion as your wedding day approaches. Below are different wedding dresses and which body types are ideal for each style.
1. Ballgown
This is the true “princess” dress. The ball gown has a fitted bodice and a full skirt. It is ideal for most body types, but it can be overwhelming on Petites with very small frames.
2. A-line
Slightly less flowy than a ball gown, A-lines have fitted bodices through the waist and cascade out towards the ground, resembling the outline of an uppercase “A.” It is ideal for all body types.
3. Trumpet or Fit-and-flare
Literally “fit-and-flare”, this dress fits through the body and flairs out mid-thigh. This cut is between a modified a-line and a mermaid cut. It is ideal for brides looking to accentuate a small waist.

5. Mermaid
Sleek and s*xy, this dress hugs the body from the chest to the knee, then flares out close to the knee. It is ideal for brides looking to show off their curves.
6. Sheath or column
This dress has a narrow shape that flows straight down from the neckline to the hem. It is ideal for lean frames and athletic body types. It is also great for hourglasses who are looking to flaunt their curves.
