Do: Assist the couple

Who says attending to errands at a wedding must be the task of the siblings of the couple? As a close friend of the couple, the success of the wedding ceremony also lies on your shoulders.

You can assist with the serving of drinks and food, driving the bridesmaids and guests to the reception venue, and so on. The bottom line is that you are contributing your quota to the success of the wedding.

Don’t: Block the photographer

The photographer has a job to do and they need space. Please stay out of their way while you take pictures.

Do: Be polite

There are significant moments that everyone will want to capture, like the entrance dance. There may be some stepping on each other pushing and blocking. In all this chaos, apologise when you offend someone, and accept apologies when you’ve been offended.

Don’t: Drink too much alcohol

Wedding receptions usually have a lot of alcohol to go round. However, bear in mind your friend’s wedding is not a place for you to get drunk. You will be needed to get things done, so take it easy on the alcohol. You can wait for the after-party if there is any. Better still, take the wine home and enjoy yourself.

Do: Share pictures wisely

Some couples want their ceremony to be private until they are ready to share, e.g Simi and Adekunle Gold’s wedding. You should be sensitive while posting. It is not okay for the groom to see his wife in her beautiful wedding dress on your snap chat before the service.
