Google today announced that it is rolling out Apple Music to Google Assistant-enabled smart devices starting today. These devices include smart speakers and smart displays such as the Nest line of devices, including the Nest Hub; Nest Hub Max; Nest Audio; and more.

To enable support, all users must do is link their Apple Music account with the assistant using the Google Home app. The service can also be set as the default streaming service on these devices; replacing any previously set options. Once linked, users will be able to use the usual commands to stream desired playlists, songs, or other content from Apple Music right through the speakers.

Just like with other services, Apple Music tracks can also be played on multiple linked devices and also supports the multi-room control feature; letting users dynamically move music between devices; or play tracks on all devices at the same time. Support for Apple Music for Assistant-enabled displays begins rolling out today to users in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, and Japan.

With the addition of the Cupertino giant’s streaming service, the only major service not supported on these smart devices is Amazon Music. Amazon’s offering recently expanded to more devices like Smart TVs. It will be interesting to see if the two tech giants bury the hatchet; and if they offer each other’s streaming services on their respective devices.
