Three variants of Google Pixel smartwatch receives Bluetooth certification

Google Pixel smartwatch is nearing its launch date as spotters catch three variants on the Bluetooth SIG certification site.

Just a week ago, someone ‘forgot’ the demo-OS version of the physical watch in a California restaurant.

Now, Bluetooth SIG granted BT Wearable Design-Controller Subsystem certifications to three devices labelled GWT9R, GBZ4S, and GQF4C for Google LLC.

For those unaware, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group is the standards organization that oversees the development of Bluetooth standards and the licensing of the Bluetooth technologies and trademarks to manufacturers. Also, the BT Wearable tech is mostly for wearable tech like watches, rings, armbands and so on.

Thus, it is not a far-fetched assumption that Google plans to launch three pixel watches.

In addition, the leaks are believed to be a marketing initiative to create as much awareness as possible ahead of an official announcement. With Google I/O starting on 11 May, we may finally hear a word from the company about its smartwatch.

Another leak, this time from an anonymous source, claimed that the watches would come in two different sizes. Also, the source mentioned that Samsung supplied Google with the same sensors that its Galaxy Watch 4 uses. Although, its Wear OS will be different.

The above leak indicates that the Google Pixel watches could cost $300 to $400. However, it is tricky to guess prices for Google products; the company usually finds a way to offer high-end devices at lower than expected market rates.
