Companies have been enjoying the services of Closed User Group (CUG) for a long time, now, MTN is allowing individuals jump on board too.

As listed on TechCabal, MTN CUG plan allows unlimited calls and texts between numbers on the same CUG plan. Then, even when you are calling other lines or networks, you will be charged 15 kobo per second. Not only that, SMS would cost ₦4 and data cost is reduced.

In collaboration with Zailands Pay, a payment processing company, the telco is making the process easy for individuals planning to register less than 10 people to their CUG plan. All you need to do is send a WhatsApp message to 08031230823 or an email to @zgicthub@gmail.com with the following:

— MTN phone numbers you want to register

— Registered name of number owners

— The plan you’re currently on (M-Pulse, Beta talk etc.)

For every new number you migrate to your CUG plan, you have to pay ₦1,500, including yours. So, for example, to start with the number of your partner, you will need to pay ₦3,000 and the monthly subscription fee of ₦650.

However, after the first time, you only have to pay the subscription fee per month and when you want to add a new line, you only have to pay the ₦1,500 for that line. To avoid forgetting to pay your sub, you can setup auto-deduction from your airtime balance.

You will get a seven-day grace period if you fail to pay your renewal on time and after this duration, your CUG membership will be terminated and you will have to reactivate it. This plan works well if you know that you spend more on calls with a certain group of people.
