Huawei is working on a follow-up for its P50 Pocket clamshell foldable device, the Pocket S, which will be cheaper. In addition to having to spend less, the device will come equipped with fewer external cameras and a smaller processor.

The Verge reports that the Pocket S will be priced from $818 and above, for comparison, the P50 Pocket’s pricing began at $1,228. Also, when you note that Huawei is not just in a competition with itself but with others, the pricing proves even more competitive.

However, the US sanctions against the company means that it would not be sold there. And while there are several markets where Huawei is not banned, the phone maker has only announced its intention to sell the device in its home country. Even at that, the device lacks 5G support, which is the reigning thing now.

For the specs, the Pocket S offers a 6.9-inch display when unfolded, which comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2790 x 1188. When closed, it has a 1.04-in external display (the second circular object on the case is the rear camera island).

The device uses two rear cams, a 40-megapixel main shooter and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. It will be powered by a midrange Snapdragon 778G processor.

Chinese customers should expect the smartphone in the markets on November 10th.
