Giannis Antetokounmpo Biopic To Star Nigerian Uche Agada As Lead

Disney + biopic on Giannis Antetokounmpo  “Greek Freak” has found its lead star; Nigerian newcomer Uche Agada.

Agada will make his on-screen debut playing the Greek Freak, NBA and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The biopic directed by Nigeria’s Akin Omotoso will take on Antetokounmpo’s life and his family as undocumented immigrants in Greece who lifted themselves out of poverty.

 

Antetokounmpo is a Greek Basketball player born to Nigerian parents. He got drafted to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013 and has since become one of the most phenomenal players in the league.

 

Also on the cast Yetide Badaki who plays Gianni’s mother and Dayo Okeniyi of “Hunger Games” who will play Charles, his father.

 

The screenplay by Arash Amel is developed by Warner Bro’s Disney plus. Antetokounmpo will executive produce, and Bernie Goldmann will produce.
