Ford Motors US has halted customer reservations for its fully electric F-150 Lightning truck as it prepares for a 2022 delivery timeline. The company is looking to deliver the electric version of its popular F-150 truck before the middle of next year.
It recently has received 200,000 refundable $100 early deposits for the electric truck and has now halted any new reservations. The company has made a serious commitment to this truck production by hiring more workers to meet demand.
The base model of the F-150 Lightning costs $40,000 and go as high as $80,000 depending on the trim level. This $40,000 model will house the smaller 12-inch landscape touchscreen and drive for 230 miles when fully charged.
The more expensive model would ship with the bigger 15-inch vertical touchscreen that ships with its muscular Mustang Mach-E. This would also allow for more mileage and even higher towing capabilities from 7,000 to 10,000 pounds depending on your pockets.

Another American automaker General Motors will begin delivery of its electric Hummers this month. The $112,000 base model price of the Hummer will rival the likes of the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian’s R1T. and Ford’s F-150 Lightning.
GMC has a limed edition trim that has around 329 EPA mileage that is powered by three motors that generate 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 ft of torque. The Hummer EV has a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds and a carriage capacity of 1,300 pounds.
Customers with reservations for the F-150 Lightning can spec out their truck in January 2022, while they wait for delivery. Other customers would have to wait till becomes available on the Ford website or buy from a dealer.
