DSS & Police Debunk News They Invited Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Others For Questioning

The Department of State Security (DSS) and Police has debunked news that it invited over Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, and Waje for questioning over their comments against the Buhari government.

 

According to earlier reports, Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, and Yemi Alade and Waje were invited by the DSS. They were questioned over political statements made against President Buhari.

The news which was broken by SaharaReporters said Don Jazzy was invited over to DSS office in Lagos some two weeks ago. He was quizzed over statements made against the Buhari Government. In the same vein, Tiwa Savage was also invited over by the Lagos State Police over her #wetired hashtag. Similarly, Waje and Yemi Alade were invited by the State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu’s. They were allegedly warned to desist from their political utterances, some of which are perceived to be against the President Buhari’s administration.

However, in an interview with newsmen of The Punch, both the Lagos State Police command and DSS have debunked the news.

 

DSS spokesman, Peter Afunnaya, denied the report saying “We didn’t invite any musician”. Bala Elkana, Lagos police spokesman has also denied the invitation of the musicians. According to him, Muazu who’s said to have invited the musicians  “ceased being CP more than 10 months ago.”

 

The present CP is Hakeem Odumosu, who came in November last year. Zubairu Muazu has even retired from service; he retired as an AIG.”

 

He also said he was  “not aware of any invitation.” to the Lagos Police Command
