#WeAreTired: Tiwa Savage Kicks Off Social Movement After Death Of Uwaila Omozuwa

Popular female singer Tiwa Savage has started a movement on Twitter with the hashtag #WeAreTired.

 

She did so while reacting to the death of Uwaila Omozuwa a 22-year-old student Microbiology student of the  University Of Benin, r*ped by unknown men in a church where she went on Wednesday 27th May 2020.

These rapists hit Uwaila with a fire extinguisher on the head and left her for dead. Uwaila recounted her sad ordeal before she passed on at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

Tiwa who is very unhappy with the happening has taken to Twitter to not only speak against r*pe but also, police brutality, unemployment, and other issues faced by Nigerians.

Meanwhile, fans of the singer have taken over the movement to ensure that the hashtag does not only trend but also bring about positive change in the country.

Some Twitter users were quick to call out President Buhari and the two major Political parties for bad governance.

Others poured out their frustration on different sectors of government that aren’t working in the country.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has called for an immediate investigation into the alleged r**e and murder of Vera Uwaila Omozuwa.
