Chinese Hisense F50 5G Arrives With 5G Tech That Is Not From Huawei

While Huawei is seen as the Chinese leader in 5G technology, Hisense is set to announce its F50 5G smartphone that is powered by a Unisoc T7510 chipset. A chipset that Huawei did not make.

Hisense or Highsense Infotech is a multinational state-owned electronics and home appliance manufacturer. The company also retails many products under the following brands; Combine, Kelon and Ronshen. It is popular for making smart TVs and other home appliances.

According to GSM Arena, the company released a teaser of its coming smartphone on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo. While many do not associate Hisense with phone making, this is not the first time the company is producing one.

In November 2019, Hisense had released King Kong 6. It was the most recent of smartphones released under its King Kong series. King Kong 6 had come with a mega battery capacity that could reach 10,010 mAh. While Hisense King Kong 6 has a 5,510mAh battery built-in, it also had a battery case that adds another 4,500mAh.

So, it should not be surprising that it is launching a 5G smartphone. However, instead of using one from the popular Huawei brand Hisense chose another manufacturer.

Thus, its Unisoc T7510 chipset uses the Chun Teng V510 baseband that Ziguang Zhan Rui, an in-house company, had developed. The chipset also supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. Ziguang Zhan Rui is a technology company in Beijing that has also been making 5G chips since 2019.

For now, not many details are available on the specifications of the Hisense F50 5G. But, it will come with a large 5,010mAh battery and allow for up to 18W fast charging. The company adds that the smartphone will have a “PC grade” cooling.

Additionally, from the images we found, it will come with four rear cameras arranged vertically. Its selfie camera will be a water drop design at the top-center of the screen. There is no information on what the camera abilities are and there is no mention of the price as well.

However, it is expected that it will be an affordable smartphone. Hisense will officially unveil F50 5G on Monday 20th April 2020.
