American singer Kehlani, who became popular on America’s Got Talent in 2011 has announced that she is gay. The singer came out as a lesbian in a TikTok video posted on Thursday 22nd April.

Kehlani’s TikTok video in which she comes out has since been deleted, but fans have posted it on Twitter. In the clip, taken in the singer’s car, Kehlani says people were “bringing it up,” so she decided to “just f*cking say it.”

Kehlani had previously hinted at the news in an Instagram live video. “Well, it’s f*cking true. I am gay, ga-gay, gay, gay.”

The star shared that she was “the last to know” that she was gay. She said her family didn’t seem very surprised.

Kehlani, whose band Poplyfe came in fourth place on America’s Got Talent (AGT) Season 6, has been open about her s*xuality in the past. According to Bustle, the singer tweeted that they were “queer” in 2018.

“Not bi, not straight. I’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non-binary people, inters*x people, trans people. Lil poly pans*xual papi hello good morning. Does that answer your questions?” Kehlani reportedly wrote at the time.

Kehlani has a daughter named Adeya Nomi with guitarist Javaughn Young-White. The singer told People that they’re raising Adeya around friends and family who are “loudly queer,” so she’ll feel loved no matter what.
