Motorola has launched two mid-range phones which will debut first for European and Latin American markets, the G100 and G50. Both smartphones feature displays with fast 90Hz refresh rates for smooth scrolling and animations.

They both also feature 5G connectivity, and 5,000mAh batteries, embracing Motorola’s “more battery, better” ethos. The G100 is the higher-end version of the released and could compete with the Google Pixel 4A 5G. It runs on a Snapdragon 870 5G processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage, and a dual wide/ultrawide selfie camera. It is to retail at about $587.

The Motorola G100 features a large 6.7-inch 1080p LCD. It also features a MicroSD card slot, making its storage expandable. It features support for sub-6GHz 5G frequencies and Wi-Fi 6. Its main 64-megapixel camera is supported by a 16-megapixel ultrawide that doubles as a macro camera, with a built-in ring flash.

It has two selfie cameras with a 16-megapixel wide and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. It allows for up to 6K / 30p video recording with the main rear camera, and the rear ultrawide is capable of taking 4K / 30p clips, an uncommon feature for mid-range smartphones.

The G50 is more budget-friendly, priced at about $269. Its high refresh rate and the 6.5-inch screen seem plenty for its price point. It features a Snapdragon 480 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage, expandable due to a MicroSD slot.
