The weekend has come to an end and some of us are sad to see it go.

 

For some, they’ll greet Monday with mixed feelings as it will mean a returning back to work after a month and week pause due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown.

 

If there was ever a time to make tasty cocktails, this is one. Quite frankly, there is never a bad time to make your own drinks.

 

Ever sat in a bar watching the bartender whip up a drink and admired just how he does it? Then you’re in the right place to learn.

 

This doesn’t mean you could compete with that guy that mixes drinks for a living because that’s clearly a reach.

 

But you could very well surprise yourself how good yours will taste too.

Here are three cocktail ideas you could try at home.

Lemon Drop Martini

Lemon drop martinis have been around for as long as cocktails can remember. Wonder why it’s still popular? Because it’s delicious and very easy to prepare. it’s like the sweet and sour version of martinis and it’s a classic.

Ingredients.

1 cup Citron vodka or standard vodka

Lemon juice

Simple syrup or maple syrup

How to prepare

Rim a martini glass with lemon juice and then sugar. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Cover and shake vigorously. Strain into your prepared glass and garnish with a lemon slice and twist. For best taste, make sure your lemon juice is fresh to give it that delicious zing.

Hawaiian Mimosas

This cocktail is so easy yet delicious its almost too good to be true. For a Hawaiian Mimosa, all you’ll need is a coconut flavored rum, pineapple juice, champagne, and some sliced pineapples. With Hawaiian Mimosas, you can bring the beachy sands of Hawaii home to you.

Ingredients

— Coconut Rum

— Pineapple Juice,

— Cold Champagne

— Pineapple slices and/or cherries

How to prepare

Pour your coconut rum into a Champagne glass. Top with Champagne and garnish with pineapple and cherry et Voila! Your Hawaiian Mimosa is ready.

Watermelon Vodka Cocktail

This cocktail is as fresh and tasty as they come. With watermelons and vodka, you can make this cocktail easily in your kitchen.

Ingredients

— One cup of watermelon chunks

— 1 tbsp. lime juice (while fresh is best, I used bottled and it was great!)

— 1 1/2 tbsp honey

— 3/4 cup water

— 1/4 cup vodka

How to prepare

Combine the watermelon, lime juice, honey, and water in a blender and set to blend2. Using a fine sieve, pour the liquid through letting the seeds and pulp catch and set aside. Add the vodka to the liquid and stir. Serve over crushed ice. Add a small slice of watermelon and a sprinkling of mint leaves for garnishing.
