American basketballer Tristan Thompson has accepted to having a child with Maralee Nichols after a paternity battle in December last year.
The NBA star confirmed this via his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, 4th January 2022.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both privately and publicly, “‘he wrote.

He went on to apologise to his former girlfriend Khloe Kardashian.
“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” he wrote.
In December 2021, Tristan Thompson spoke about his s*xual relationship with Maralee Nichols. He recalled meeting Nichols in late November or early December 2020 at someone’s home.
He also denied having s*x with her in California around that time, claiming that the only possible date of conception for the child is March 13, 2021, Thompson’s birthday. Nichols however said the child was conceived in April.
Thompson, 30, also repeatedly asserted that his relationship with Nichols was “based on s*x only.”
During the time that Thompson admits to having a s*xual relationship with Nichols, he was publicly dating Khloé Kardashian. The estranged couple shares a 3-year-old daughter True.
