Many young Nigerians grew up knowing Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor as a “wicked mother-in-law”. She was known to be that woman that stressed her daughter-in-law for no reason. Also, if she was your co-wife, she would surely use diabolical powers to kick you out.

 

A lot of people couldn’t separate her from her roles in films, as they thought she had to be the same person in real life.

 

Throwback Thursday- Celebrating Patience Ozorkwor Days In Nollywood

Patience Ozokwor was born on 14th September 1958 in the village of Amaobo, Ngwo, Enugu State, Nigeria. She attended Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos.

Ozokwor had a passion for acting since she was at primary school, where she would feature in different stage plays. She later attended the Institute of Management and Technology Enugu, where she obtained a degree in Fine and Applied Arts.

 

Before her official debut as an actress, she was already a star in a radio drama. Patience took part in a soap opera by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) titled “Someone Cares”.

 

She got married at age 19 and has three biological children and five adopted ones who all bear her name. She lost her husband in the year 2000.

 

You can’t talk about the early days of Nollywood without mentioning Patience Ozokwor. Today, we celebrate this veteran actress who graced our screens with her beautiful talent.
