Samsung And Google Offers Coronavirus Frontline Workers Free Phone Repairs

Samsung, Google and uBreakiFix have announced that health care workers and every other frontline worker supporting communities during coronavirus pandemic will get free phone repairs until 30th June.

Both Samsung and Google are partnering with uBreakiFix to achieve this. uBreakiFix is an electronic repair shop founded in 2009 and currently exists in over 500 locations. It majorly offers its services in the US and thus, this free repair programme is for those in that location.

According to an article on The Verge, Samsung calls its repair programme “Free Repairs for The Frontline”. The company released a statement regarding what this covers, it says:

“[It will] provide free repair services for Samsung smartphones, including cracked screen and battery replacement, to all first responders and healthcare professionals through June 30.”

In the same vein, Google is also doing the exact same thing. Every first responder to coronavirus, health care workers and other helpers are eligible for free Google Pixel phone repairs.

All that is required is that these eligible people show their ID badges. uBreakiFix said regarding this partnership:

“At uBreakiFix, we know that ‘together’ is the only way to get through this. We’re grateful to work with our friends at Google to honor those serving on the frontlines of this crisis.

“We know that a broken smartphone is more than just an inconvenience right now, and it’s our privilege to do what we can to help first responders and healthcare heroes stay connected to what matters most during this time.”

It further offers home repair services and curbside ones as well. The company assures citizens that it ensures that all workers follow sanitary procedures as they receive, repair and return smartphones.
