Qualcomm Says 5G Tech Will Enter Mainstream In 2020, Are You Ready?

According to Qualcomm, you may not have to wait very long to start using 5G tech. At the Customer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, the technology company stated that there will be many phones in the market that uses the 5G network.

 

Qualcomm representatives at one of the biggest tech stages in the world announced that they expect about 200 million 5G enabled smartphones in 2020. It also disclosed that this is more likely because 34 companies will be using its Snapdragon X55 5G.

 

There is also the coming Wi-Fi 6 and 5G enabled devices along with fixed wireless broadband.

 

Wi-Fi 6 is the next-generation standard in WiFi technology created to cater to the growing number of smart devices in the world. Meanwhile, fixed wireless provides broadband internet access to a single location through radio waves, eliminating the need for phone or cable.

 

Qualcomm is also going into PCs as well. It is working with Lenovo to make some of the first-ever 5G-enabled PCs in the world. This is called the Yoga 5G ultraportable 3-in-1 Windows laptop. It will allow for a lightning-fast internet connection.

With this laptop and the 5G network, users can complete stream, video chat and play online games at an unreal speed.

 

Also, Qualcomm mentions that it expects more devices from their partners that can use 5G tech. At the Qualcomm Technology Incorporation annual Snapdragon Tech Summit, the company unveiled its plan to launch 5G into the market.

Cristiano Amon, the President of the company said:

 

“5G will open new and exciting opportunities to connect, compute, and communicate in ways we’ve yet to imagine and we are happy to be a key player driving the adoption of 5G around the world,

 

“Our Snapdragon 5G mobile platforms announced today will continue to show leadership in the industry and deliver on the promise of scaling 5G in 2020.” 

 

Samsung is also driving the growth of 5G, it had reported launching 6.7 million 5G-enabled smartphones in the market already.
