Nigerians in Lagos and Abuja today took to the streets to protest against r*pe and s*xual abuse against women.
Since this week, following the death of Uwa, the conversation turned to r*pe and other violent s*xual crimes running unchecked in Nigeria.
This inspired many to take to the streets to draw more attention to the ongoing culture of r*pe and assault in the country.
In the Lagos protests, protesters walked in a straight line, observing social distancing as they held up their placards.
While in Abuja, a large crowd of protesters convened at the police headquarters in the city. Amongst the crowd was Tonto Dikeh and OAP Anita Asuoha aka Warri Pikin. They, alongside other protesters, held up placards demanding more stringent punishment for r*pists.
