A report from Comparisun claims that as early as 2026, Jeff Bezos may have amassed over a trillion dollars, putting the Amazon CEO in line to become the first trillionaire ever.
In case you were wondering, here is a quick breakdown of what it means to have a trillion dollars: you need to have one million of one million dollars or one thousand of one billion dollars.
Comparisun is a company that compares the value of companies. While there have been Trillion Dollar companies – Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, and Microsoft – there has never been a trillion-dollar individual before. But Jeff Bezos may become the first one if calculations projecting his worth by 2026 are to be trusted.
The news did not sit well with many people who have for long had an issue with the capitalist society. One of the social media platforms that saw the highest number of outbursts was Twitter.
Many of the Tweets pointed at the fact that Bezos’ Amazon is allegedly set to cut the hazard pay it had been giving workers at the height of the pandemic. One user, in the heat of the moment, posted:
how do we get that Jeff Bezos nigga to pay his workers more?? mans is a trillionaire and can’t give his workers proper benefits and pay??

Currently, he is the richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $144 billion, according to Bloomberg. In addition to the cut in hazard pay, CNBC says the company will stop the ‘hourly wage increases and double overtime pay for warehouse workers’ by 1st June 2020.
There are also calls for Amazon workers to form a union to have a united front when they fight mistreatment. Rashida Tlaib, a “Congresswoman for Michigan’s #13districtstrong” posted:
We don’t play in the 13th District. You go after our people, our workers, you will hear from us.
Are we ready for a union yet @amazon workers? https://t.co/GFa09fMGOy

It is important to note that Jeff Bezos had lost $38 billion in his recent divorce and that the economy of the US and the world as a whole is plunging.
