US rapper and record producer Shawn Carter musically known as Jay-Z now has now joined Instagram, 11 years after the social media platform launched.
The 51-year-old billionaire businessman joined the Facebook-owned platform on Tuesday 2nd November and already has 1.6 million followers.
However, he’s only following Beyoncé, his wife, who currently has 216 million followers on the platform.
His first and only post on the platform is a photo of “The Harder They Fall” a 2021 movie which he co-produced.
The movie, scheduled to hit Netflix today, follows an outlaw, who discovers his enemy is being released from prison and reunites his gang to seek revenge.
The award-winning musician also shared a premiere countdown clock for the movie premiere on his Instagram story.
The project features top movie stars including Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Zazie Beetz, Regina King, Lakeith Stanfield, Delroy Lindo, and Deon Cole.

With numerous awards and recognition, Jay-Z has established himself as a prominent name in the global music landscape. In 2019, he had become the first hip-hop artiste to attain billionaire status.
The rapper tied the knot with Beyoncé in 2008. The union has been blessed with three children; Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir.
Jay-Z in a interview with The Times said he and Beyoncé will not force their kids into show business. He said he’s aware of the legacy his children may feel the need to live up. However, the music mogul said his priority is to ensure they have a loving environment and the needed attention.
