With the release date of iOS 14 approaching, we are beginning to see some leaks and rumours regarding the update. 9to5Mac has reported two icons; representing light and dark versions of Apple’s high-end headphones in iOS 14 code.

This might as well depict high-end over-ear headphones with similar features to AirPods. Two years ago, supply chain analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo had published an investor note saying Apple engineers were developing a new pair of advanced headphones that would exist independently of the Beats brand.

The headphones from the indications of the icon will come in both white and black colours. The Airpod and Airpod pro meanwhile have only come in white. Speculations also claim that Apple’s rumoured headphones will have a similar design to the Beats headphone.

The headphones might retail at $399 if the rumours are true. A design concept was leaked on twitter by Jon Prosser, a tech analyst after some target employees told him about a X Generation AirPod showing up in their scanners.

Ming-Chi Kuo had also advised investors that the headphone may ship sometime in 2020 and 9to5mac is predicting that they would ship after iOS 14 is released publicly.

In related news, Apple is likely going to cancel its World Wide Developers Conference in June 2020 due to concerns over coronavirus. The tech giants usually showcase their newest software and technologies during the conference. Many other tech companies have also canceled their event so as to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Apple will, however, release it’s iOS 14 later in 2020 and then the headphones afterward.
