How to link your Android or iPhone to Windows 10 PC

Windows 10 biggest improvement over the years is likely the ability to link your PC and phone (Android and iPhone). This way, you can push activities on your phone to your PC without using the same network or a USB cable.

The feature is called “Continue on PC” and it makes it possible to receive notifications from your phone on your computer. This way, you don’t have to keep leaving your PC and picking up your phone at intervals. You can even reply text messages or chats directly from your PC.

Connect Android or iOS phone to Windows 10

  • Go to Setting on your Windows 10 PC
  • Click on the Phone option where it says underneath “Link your Android, iPhone”
  • Next, click on the Add a phone button in the tab that opens
  • Ensure that both devices you are trying to link have internet connections (it does not necessarily have to be the same network)
  • Then, enter your country code and mobile number in the box and click on Send to receive one-time link
  • The link takes you to where you can download the Microsoft Apps, but for new iPhones and some Samsung phones, the link may take you to install Microsoft Launcher app or Microsoft Edge browser
  • After you complete the sign in process, you will see your device in the Phone section on your Windows 10 Add a phone section.

You can now continue using your PC while you attend to notifications from your phone seamlessly. With a recent update, Microsoft is even making the syncing process more effective with upgrades and improvements to Windows 11.

Note: Microsoft has since changed the Microsoft Phone Link as the PC app experience, and Link to Windows as our mobile app for Android devices.
