HBO Max to remove 36 titles from its streaming service starting this week, just days after the company assured viewers that no show has been canceled following the 14% layoff.

HBO Max is undergoing a serious shakeup as it merges with Discovery+, following the acquisition of its parent company, WarnerMedia, with Warner Bros. Discovery shedding all extra weight and bringing new structures.

“As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and discovery+,” the company said. “That will include the removal of some content from both platforms.”

While HBO Max has not said when the affected titles will no longer, inside sources say some will start leaving this week. The hope is that this move will reduce cost on ‘lesser-watched’ programs.

Thus, the service would have removed a total of 20 HBO Max originals, two HBO originals, seven Cartoon Network shows, and seven acquired titles.

Already, not many of the creators at the company are happy. However, fans seem to be glad that the DCEU live-action films would be getting a pair of new gloves that could give it the glory its animated films enjoy.
