2022 is looking to be a big year for hearing tech, as Eargo joins the pride with its own hearing aid. This elegant, simple and minimal hearing aid was unveiled at the CES 2022 event.
The Eargo 6 is the sixth version of the company’s hearing technology and it features an environment adjustment tech. How does is this possible? The hearing aids simply convert sounds picked from their microphones, turn them into digital signals and then amplify them.
The biggest change coming to these buds is the “Eargo dubs Sound Adjust” which is an improvement over the previous Eargo 5 Sound Match feature. This creates a personalized hearing profile based on different environments.
So let’s say you arrive at an airport, the earbud adjusts automatically to the ambience of the noise. This is a major upgrade over the “Eargo 5 Sound Match feature” that took over 8-10 minutes to adjust to.
Eargo cites this massive leap in downtime to its proprietary algorithm, which it has been able to fine-tune these past years. The EARGO 6 has an IPX7 water resistance rating, improving over the previous generation. Also, the company says the Eargo 6 suppresses background noise and “noise between pauses in speech.” This is perfect for those who can’t hear properly or have hearing loss.
