Nigerian superstar rapper and human rights advocate Folarin Falana musically known as Falz has dropped powerful visuals for his song “Johnny.”

“Johnny”  was initially released in 2019 under his acclaimed album “Moral Instruction.” The video is a representation of police brutality and abuse of human rights ongoing in Nigeria.

 

Falz who was actively involved in the #EndSARS protest which shook the nation very recently has always been vocal about social ills and injustices

There is a dire need for us to redefine the concept of humanity and morality. There is a pressing need for re-education and re-orientation of the people. For this is the only way we can restore sanity’. – Folarin Falana

The video opens with the striking picture of Falz laying flat on his face with blood representation spewed on the floor. He raps out the lyrics that so poignantly describes the sufferings of Nigerians in the hands of the police and the ruling class.

The video also features clips from the EndSARS protests, and of soldiers shooting at protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Falz says the video was dedicated to persons who lost their lives during the protests.
