Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, will be hosting Saturday Night Live on 8th May 2021. This is not a joke and has been confirmed by the official SNL account via a tweet. The musical guest will be Miley Cyrus.
Musk is quite famed for his quirky sense of humor on Twitter. He’s hasn’t done a 90-minute comedy hosting show yet, so we will find out if he can make Saturday night Live interesting.

This is not Elon Musk’s first notable media appearances. He once appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast smoking weed, had a cameo in Iron Man 2 in 2010. He also played himself on an episode of The Simpsons, titled “The Musk Who Fell to Earth”, the now-retired show The Big Bang Theory, and its spinoff Young Sheldon. He had an appearance on the Stephen Colbert show, where he was likened to Lex Luthor.
Musk enjoys the spotlight and he’ll certainly enjoy himself on the show, however, if he can entertain the millions of viewer for that long remains to be seen. It’s no doubt that Musk has an interesting persona and coupled with help from the shows organisers, he just might pull it off.
Musk is the first non entertainment person to Saturday Night Live host since NFL player J.J. Watt’s appearance last year.
