Football fans are excited with the news that Elon Musk could make a bid for English Premier League club Manchester United by Friday. Although, the vocal tech billionaire has said nothing to confirm or deny the rumours.

According to a report by UK’s Mirror, the club’s current owner, the Glazer family, are shopping for new owners and have been doing so since November 2022. Recall that iPhone maker, Apple, was also reportedly eyeing the deal as Tim Cook is a sports lover.

For now, there isn’t much to go on apart from reports within the Tesla CEO’s camp that he is monitoring the situation. With a net worth of over £157 billion, buying the club may not be much of a challenge for Musk. He is also said to be a boyhood fan of the club.

In addition, running a football club will be much easier that running tech companies, which he currently has his hands full with.

Musk is not alone in chasing the deal as Britain richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is also said to be involved and one of the best fit. In addition, there are also some investors from Qatar and the Middle East that are interested in seizing the deal.
