In addition, running a football club will be much easier that running tech companies, which he currently has his hands full with.
Musk is not alone in chasing the deal as Britain richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is also said to be involved and one of the best fit. In addition, there are also some investors from Qatar and the Middle East that are interested in seizing the deal.

Should Elon Musk buy Manchester United?
Acquiring Manchester United has several advantages for Musk and little challenges, which money can solve. For one, the billionaire will win himself a tens of millions of new fans from the club’s fan base.
Also, sport events are the most watched programmes on TV in England and his team wearing ads for one or more of his companies could really boost sales and reduce their marketing costs.
There is also the business aspect as the club is arguably the biggest in the country and one of the biggest in the world. Revenues can help offset the money he paid for it in a matter of years and later turn to profit.
