Comedienne Emmanuella Wins Nickolodeon Kids’ Choice Africa Award

It’s another big win moment for Nigeria as 10-year-old comedienne Emmanuella Samuel has been announced winner of the favorite African social media star category at the just concluded Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice awards.

The comedienne announced the via an Instagram post on her Instagram handle on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. “Congratulations to me as I won the Favourite African Social Media Star category at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021. I am so happy to be a winner, thank you!” she wrote

Emmanuella was first nominated for Nickolodeon’s African Kid’s Choice category in 2018. However, she lost to Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo.

For this edition, the child star beat out  Nigeria’s Ikorodu Bois, Elsa Majimbo, Bonang Matheba, Ghetto Kids, and Wian Van Den Berg to clinch the award.

 

Born 22nd July 22, 2010, Emmanuella Samuel known as Emmanuella, is a YouTube child comedian on Mark Angel’s YouTube channel. She started featuring in comedy skits at age. Emmanuella became even more popular after the comedy skit “This Is Not My Real Face Oh”, where she was making jokes about a headmistress to her fellow students without knowing the student was the child of the headmistress. This short skit was featured on CNN’s Facebook page.

 

In 2016, Emanuella won the award for Top Subscribed Creator from YouTube at the inaugural edition of the Sub-Saharan African YouTube Awards. She also won the Best New Comedienne & Princess of Comedy awards at the Afro-Australia Music & Movie Awards (AAMMA).
