The Russo Brothers, co-producers of American action-thriller film, Extraction, have invited Nigerian internet sensation, Ikorodu Bois to the premiere of the sequel after coming across a remake of the first thriller.

They posted their video reenacting Extraction‘s trailer on Wednesday, racking up over close to 5 million views in under 24 hours on Twitter. In no time, it had attracted the attention of the Hollywood producers and star actor, Chris Hemsworth.

“We so much love this movie and we hope @chrishemsworth and @netflix sees this remake, pls retweet” the young creatives had captioned the post.

The ace producers Anthony Russo and Joseph Russo, known as the Russo brothers were obviously surprised with the accuracy of the re-enactment and they said as much on their Twitter.

This is awesome! We would love to have you guys at the #Extraction 2 premiere…DM us and we’ll get you there!” they tweeted.

Chris Hemsworth, the star of the film also reposted the remake on his Instagram page. He wrote, “huge shout out to these amazing young filmmakers @ikorodu_bois for recreating @extraction trailer shot for shot! I think your version might be better than the original !! @netflixfilm”, he captioned.

Extraction’s director Sam Hargrave also shared the video and wrote, “So awesome!! These amazing young filmmakers from Nigeria recreated the #Extraction trailer shot for shot. Such ingenuity!! Bravo. Link to their full-length original video on twitter in my bio. CHECK IT OUT! @netflixfilm @netflix @chrishemsworth #youngfilmmakers #cool #bravo #encore”

The talent of Ikorodu Bois is quite unusual. They’re able to recreate just about any video regardless of how complex it is with the simplest of props made from household items. It’s no surprise that they’re getting recognition for their work and would soon be in Hollywood to experience the premiere of Extraction 2.

In the same vein, comedian and content Creator Josh Alfred known as Josh2Funny is also getting international recognition for creating the now-viral #Donteleavemechallenge.

As the challenge went viral on Twitter, Instagram, and even more on TikTok, Nigerians demanded that Josh gets recognition for his work, and finally, their voices were heard. American media house BuzzFeed recently interviewed the comedian, giving him credit for the wordplay challenge.

“The Nigerian entertainer regularly creates comedy sketches for his 1.5 million followers on Instagram, but the “Don’t Leave Challenge” is his first moment to capture a global audience.” BuzzFeed wrote

Josh is one of Nigeria’s biggest trendsetters in the creative industry. He also started the viral  Gbas Gbos, All My Guys Are Ballerz, and Think About It.

He portrays several characters which include, Bro Zakius, Tunde Tupac, Agro, Mama Felicia, Juga, Optununu.
Josh has an ingenious way of meandering from one character to another. He sheds one and puts on the next effortlessly; something that’s rarely seen in the industry.

The recognition of Ikorodu Bois and Josh2funny globally is a huge step and would definitely inspire more creatives to put in good work.
