Private Nigerian airline, Air Peace will become the first in Africa to fly passengers on the Embraer 195-E2 or E195-E2. It announced that it is expecting the aircraft to join its assemblage later in October 2020.
Announcing the news via Twitter, Air Peace tweeted:
We can’t wait to have our two brand new Embraer 195-E2 aircraft later this October.
We’re the first to fly this aircraft type in Africa. These are the first set of the 13 E195-E2 aircraft on firm order. pic.twitter.com/pRes0cB3yK— Air Peace (@flyairpeace) October 8, 2020
The company also said that its buying the aircraft will further its ambitions in the flight industry. “The acquisition will help us deliver more on our no-city-left-behind initiative while feeding long-haul flights from our Lagos hub. Counting down to delivery…,” it wrote.

Air Peace was also part of the airline companies adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. On the resumption of international flights, it put safety and health precautions in place to protect its staff and customers.
The Embraer 195-E2 or E195-E2 is a commercial jet that that became operational in September 2019. It is a direct competitor against the Airbus A220-300 and has the advantage of being cheaper. Embraer, the company producing the aircraft, claims that the E195-E2 costs about 22% less per trip than a 154-seat A320neo and 24% below a 160-seat 737-8.
It seats about 136 passengers in a single class. Air Peace ordered 10 Embraer 195-E2 aircrafts. As of January 2020, the airliner flies passengers tp the following locations; the Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and United Arab Emirates. It also says that it will soon start flying to Israel and India.
