All your favourite Nollywood stars have come together to bring Arese Ugwu’s bestselling book ‘The Smart Money Woman’ to life.

‘The Smart Money Woman’ book by financial expert and writer Arese Ugwu hit the stands in 2016 and became an instant bestseller. It follows the story of Zuri Guobadia and tackles debt, spending, the consumerist culture of the African middle class, the fear and misconceptions surrounding money, and the lack of it. It also highlights friendships, cultural and societal pressures, and the roles they play in a person’s overall success.

 

Now the book has been reproduced into a TV series starring Osas Ighodaro as Zuri Guobadia, the main character. Other A-list stars on the production include Ini Dima-Okojie, Toni Tones, Lala Akindoju, Ebenezer Eno amongst others.

 

Lala who also doubles as a producer took to her Twitter to share the poster of the upcoming TV series. She wrote:

Speaking on the series, Arese Ugwu, mom of one wrote on her Instagram:

“When I was writing this book and I thought hmm who would play this character in a movie..I honestly thought Osas Ighodaro. She’s beautiful, she’s tall, she’s Bini

When Osas read the book in 2017..she messaged me and said if you ever turn this book into a movie I’m in it! Even though at the time I wasn’t sure I wanted to go down that route because what do I know about making movies🤷‍♀️ I was like look at God.”

Two years later.. The stars have aligned. She’s our Leading lady in #thesmartmoneywoman #tvseries and working with her has been a dream

I’m so grateful to be working with people who are so interested in bringing my vision to life and are understanding of my process.”

The series contains thirteen episodes and will begin airing on the Africa Magic TV channel from September, 2020.
