Veteran Nigerian Broadcaster Dan Foster Is Dead, Nigerians Pay Tribute

Popular Nigerian On-air personality Dan Foster is reportedly dead. While the cause of death is yet unsure, there are speculations he reportedly suffered complications resulting from Covid-19.

 

A source of The Cable says that his wife is infected as well.  “He died today around 1 pm. His wife is currently at the isolation centre in Yaba as we speak,” said the source.

 

Dan Foster before his death was an On-Air Personality for City FM. Fondly called ” The Big Dawg”, he was among broadcasters that revolutionalised Radio in Nigeria. He was born and raised in America and worked in several radio stations there before he relocated to Nigeria to continue his career.

Dan Foster joined Cool FM in 2000 and was there till 2009. He left for Inspiration FM and later City FM where he spent the last days of his career.

 

He also made a brief stint on television. Foster was one of the judges of African Idols in 2007 alongside Nigeria’s Dede Mabiaku and Ghana’s Abrew Nana. He was also a judge in Nigeria’s Got Talent show with Kate Henshaw and Yibo Kobo.

Less than an hour after his death was announced, many Nigerians are already paying tribute to the late Broadcaster. MC and TV host Frank Edoho was one of the first persons to break the news of his demise on Twitter.

Comedian Bovi and other celebrities have also taken to Twitter to pay their respects to the late radio veteran.
