Veteran Actor And Scarface Star Geno Silva Dies At Age 72
Veteran actor Geno Silva, popular for his role as The Skull in Brian De Palma’s “Scarface” is dead.
He died on 9th May 2020 in Los Angeles of complications resulting from frontotemporal degeneration. Geno Silva was aged 72.
Silva was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 20th January 1948. He went on to have a career on stage and screen.
Silva’s career spanned more than four decades and included more than 100 films, television and theatre credits, his family said.
In “Scarface” (1983), his character is one of the most memorable ones as he is the one who kills Al Pacino’s Tony Montana in the movie’s climax.
He also appeared in David Lynch’s critically acclaimed neo-noir “Mulholland Drive” (2001) starring Naomi Watts.
His credits include many big-banner movies such as Steven Spielberg’s “Amistad ” (1997), “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997) as well as “A Man Apart” (2003), “1941” (1979), and “Tequila Sunrise” (1988).

His television credits include “Hill Street Blues,” “Days of Our Lives,” “Key West,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Star Trek: Enterprise” and “Alias” In 1994.
He also appeared in the Peter Sellars’ stage production of “The Merchant of Venice” with Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz.
He reunited with Ortiz for Jose Rivera’s off-Broadway production of “Sueño.”
Silva is survived by his wife, Pamela Phillips Silva, daughter, Lucia Silva; grandchildren Eva and Levon Redman, and sister, Elizabeth Gallegos.
