When it comes to street style for men, Paris Men’s Fashion Week is the centre of the menswear universe. It’s always the last in the fashion week cycle for menswear. With the 2019 Fashion Week rounding off last Sunday, the menswear collections for Spring/Summer 2020 are set in stone.

 

With the week over, it’s time to look at what trend we need to be on the lookout for in 2020.

 

So far, take a look at our top style trends.

 

The first is the short suits we spotted many rocking. This was a hit in 2018 Paris Men’s Fashion Week from Thom Browne to an Eighties resurgence from Balenciaga. If you never thought someone would spot you wearing a pair of tailored joggers to a formal event, then PFW2020 says otherwise. This look takes you back to the Nineties when Versace first put a short suit down the catwalk.

 

The second trend that stood out to us the most is the array of colours and eye-catching silhouettes. Khaki also got a street style upgrade, and we couldn’t miss out on that one. Generally, it’s summer and the mood on the streets screamed summer.

 

It is clear by now that some styles are timeless as they are recurring from the past years’ fashion shows. Although London and Milan Men’s Fashion Week are hot, there’s something about Paris that keeps the flames going.

 

The street style this year showed a lot of diversity. It was also a platform for the big guns (iconic French megabrands like Louis Vuitton, Dior Homme) to reestablish their status quo as the trendsetters of fashion. Others are the likes of Balenciaga, Hermès, Lanvin, Valentino and Balmain.

 

Also, it is a platform for about-to-break-big talents like Matthew Williams to make a name for themselves. We also spotted musicians at the event.
