Tinsel Cast Solicit Funds For Actor Victor Olaotan’s Deteriorating Health

Members of the cast and crew of one of DStv’s longest-running series “Tinsel” have gone on social media to solicit for funds for Victor Olaotan. Victor Olaotan plays the role of “Fred Ade-Williams” in the series that started airing in 2008.

 

 

Victor Olaotan’s health appears to be deteriorating as his family and friends seek to raise ‎₦90 million needed for his medical treatment abroad. In a series of videos and photos shared by his colleagues in the entertainment industry on social media, the actor looked pale and ill.

When the news of Victor Olaotan’s failing health first broke the internet in 2019, billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola had taken over the hospital bills.

 

Richard Mofe-Damijo, in 2019, announced that Femi Otedola would take over Victor Olaotan’s medical bills. According to him, he reached out to the billionaire businessman who decided to take over the entire hospital bills of the veteran actor.

Victor Olaotan was born in Lagos in 1952. He studied at the University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University and Rockets University, United States.

 

He later began his career as an actor when he joined the University of Ibadan theatre group. There, he met other artists, such as Professor Wole Soyinka and Jimi Solanke among others. Then he became more popular in 2013 after his leading role in a Nigerian Soap opera, “Tinsel”, began airing in August 2008.

 

The veteran actor was involved in a motor accident in October 2016 and suffered nervous system injury. He was driving to a film set when the accident took place around Apple Junction in Festac, Lagos.
