The New York Auto Show will not be held this year. The show organisers had postponed the show till August 2020. However, they now say they are fully focused on making the show happen in 2021.
The Auto show’s organisers announced the move in a Twitter post citing the safety of the show’s attendees. The tweet also stated that all tickets to the show would be refunded.

The Javits Center which would usually play host to the show is at the moment being utilised as a field hospital for COVID-19 patients. Although there are no patients being treated there at this time, it’s on standby for possible emergencies.
The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association owns and operates the New York Auto Show. The association’s president Mark Schienberg in a statement said;
“Since the beginning of this pandemic, we have worked closely with the Governor’s office and with Javits officials to protect our attendees. We are extremely proud of the role the Javits Center has played during this difficult time, and we understand the need for it to remain ready to serve.”
The New York Auto Show would usually feature the debuts of new vehicles. According to The Verge, this year was to have debuted Volkswagen’s ID 4 electric SUV, the production version of Lucid Motors’ first car, and Ford’s new revamped Bronco, among others.
