Tara Fela-Durotoye Shares Her Experience Of Betrayal And Cyber-bullying On “Life Lessons With Betty Irabor”

Makeup and cosmetic mogul Tara Fela-Durotoye was recently a guest on “Life Lessons with Betty Irabor” show.

 

On the show, she discussed in detail some harsh treatments of cyberbullying and hate she was subjected to when her husband Fela Durotoye ran for President during the 2019 general elections.

Recall that Fela Durotoye was a presidential candidate under the umbrella of Alliance For New Nigeria party.

 

Speaking with Betty Irabor, Tara said they were some certain persons she expected emotional support from but she didn’t get it. According to her, she had “too many experiences” that left her “in tears, sad, and burdened”.

 

Tara also felt betrayed by friends who gossiped about her endlessly; some insinuating Fela was only running for office to promote his image. She said she “struggled with unforgiveness for a year” and had to see a life coach. Tara also shared some of the unique therapies the life coach put her through and how it helped her.

She and Fela also suffered a setback in their relationship after he lost the elections. They were, however able to overcome and it made their marriage even better.

 

Speaking on her biggest lesson from the whole experience, Tara Fela-Durotoye said: “If you’re married to someone who is passionate about whatever it is they’re passionate about, stand with them, support them, but it’s going to be a true test of how deep and grounded your relationship is. So my advice to people who are married… In this time, before you have those hard moments, spend time developing trust, compassion for one another, deep love for one another…”
