Taaooma Reveals Why She Isn’t Considering Acting Her Skits On Stage

Popular Instagram skit maker Maryam Apaokagi aka Taaooma  says she isn’t considering acting her skits on stage.

The skit maker recently spoke to actress and presenter Nancy Isime, about her evolution as a content creator.

Taaooma stated that doing stage shows would amount to overstretching herself. She also revealed that she might explore ways to make it work but added that it’s not a priority she has actively considered.

“If not comedy, I honestly don’t know what I would have done. I wanted to be a doctor. Later, I switched to a lawyer. I got to university and was offered Tourism, which I actually love. It’s good if you love adventure,” she said.

“I have done something on stage. But apart from maybe hosting [events], I don’t think I want to [explore that path]. It’s going to be difficult for me to act out a skit on stage because I’m like seven or eight characters.

“If I was this person where it’s differentiated, it would’ve been easy. I might but, right now, it’s not on my mind.”

Taaooma was born in Nigeria but spent most of her early years in Namibia. She studied Tourism and Travel Service Management at Kwara State University.

In 2015, she started online comedy after convincing her fiancé to teach her the basics of video editing.

She rose to stardom in 2019 with a skit based on African parents taking their children to school.
