Sony’s Quirky New $150 Neckband Speakers Built For Remote Workers

Top Audio Company Sony is targeting remote workers with its new Neckband speakers, which will retail at $150.

Sony calls them the SRS-NB10 continuing its history of the weird naming lineup for its products. The company is positioning this speaker as a device for people working from home.

 

This sony neckband has a dedicated mute button for calls, separate volume, and power buttons. For calls, it has a precise voice pickup technology for better clarity when users speak. Sony boasts that this neckband will last up to 20 hours of battery life with the new USB type C quick charging capabilities. For connectivity, this speaker can connect to multiple devices such as your laptop, smartphone at once with a multi-point connection.

 

It can also easily pair with other devices using Bluetooth, for a seamless audio experience.

If you are concerned about weight, the Sony neckband is made from premium materials, lightweight, flexible and durable. They weigh approximately 113 grams.

 

 

Its small size carries a full-range speaker unit with upward-firing sound and a passive radiator that produces excellent sound.

 

 

For quick charging, Sony promises this neckband charged for 10 minutes would give 60 minutes of power to users. Let’s say you are cooking in the kitchen, with this neckband speaker on. No need for an alarm, they are IPX4 splash resistant for sweat and water splashes. Going for a walk or run, doing some chores won’t be an issue. These speakers pack in the latest Bluetooth 5.1 technology with a maximum communication range of 30 meters.

 

The $150 neckband speaker will be available in white and gray colors, once they go on sale in September. Sony currently has an “email me when available” option for the speaker on its website.
