He was taken to the hospital and had to undergo surgery says his spokeswoman. “He’s doing fine, he’s under observation and is in the best possible hands.”

Simon Cowell who’s most popular for his world-famous shows, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent was admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 8th.

This will not be Cowell’s first home accident. In 2017, he fell down the stairs of his London home.

“Sometimes we get a reminder that we’re not invincible and this was certainly mine,” he said to newsmen at the time. “It was a huge shock. They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure. So I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out. After all, I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever

Simon shares a 6yr old son Eric with his partner Lauren Silverman. They were both testing out the bike when the accident happened.

According to Page Six, the ensuing surgery lasted almost six hours. “It was a long surgery, they had to fuse his bones and implant a rod. But thank goodness he’s going to be okay and will have a few months of recovery,” a source told the outlet.

The X Factor creator is expected to appear as a judge on this year’s  America’s Got Talent. The show is scheduled to begin in the US next week.

Cowell recently came under harsh criticisms after erstwhile judge on America Got Talent Gabrielle Union accused him of unethical behavior while she was on the show.

Meanwhile, the music tycoon has signed a deal relinquishing the rights to his Syco Music company which he launched in 2009 to Sony Music.
