The new updates on Samsung’s smartwatch ushers in some nice features. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active will now automatically detect when a user is swimming and doing water-based activities with their watch on.

Another new feature the Samsung Galaxy Watch has is the heart rate tracker. The smartwatch will now alert a user if their heart rate remains under a specified beat per minute for about 10 minutes. Now, Samsung’s digital assistant Bixby will also now help with some hands-free duties. It will offer customized exercise routines by learning from activities the users normally involve in.

Bixby will also be able to control some household smart devices. The Galaxy Watch will send commands directly to items like smart light bulbs, plugs and camera compatible with SmartThings.

The new update also fixes a major flaw with the Galaxy Watch Active. It previously forced users to swirl their fingers around the perimeter of the display even though it did not have the rotation bezel. However, this new update now allows users to spin through apps more easily by swiping across the screen.

Another great new feature is an update Goodnight Mode. It has a new view with relaxing colours that only just shows the time now instead of bombarding the user with too much info.
