Remove Skin Tags With These Seven Natural, Homemade Remedies

Skin tags are small fleshy growths that pop out from the skin of adults. While it has no medical side effects, a person’s confidence can be affected by their appearance.

There are medical ways to remove skin tags and there are also some few natural, homemade techniques you could try. Here are 5 ways you can remove skin tags in your home.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar’s natural astringent qualities make is very useful for treating some pertinent skin conditions. Removing skin tags is one of them.

How to apply

Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar then place it on the affected area. Use a bandage to attach the cotton ball and leave it on overnight. Repeat as often a  possible

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree essential oil is highly recommended in the beauty community as it has many benefits to the skin. There’s also some evidence it has been able to help people get rid of skin tags. However, tea tree oil has been known to irritate people with sensitive skin so apply caution when using. To apply, follow the same mode of application used for Apple Cider Vinegar.

 

Banana Peel

Banana peels are rich in enzymes and acids thus, they’re good for treating some skin conditions like skin tags and warts.

How to use

Place the insides of a banana peel ( the white part) on the affected area and cover with a clean, soft cloth. Leave it on for at least two hours and repeat until you get results.

Garlic

Due to its excellent healing properties, garlic has almost everything the skin needs. This common natural spice has antiviral, antiseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial properties and can be a great option to remove skin tags.

How to apply

Crush two or three cloves of garlic and apply it on the affected area.  Leave for an hour before you wash off with some and lukewarm water. It’s going to smell but you’ll just have to bear it, for the greater good.

Ginger

Ginger is not just great for adding spice to your meals, it’s packed with bioactive compounds and nutrients that speed up the healing process of the skin. Furthermore, ginger is brimming with antibacterial properties that fight the growth of skin tags.

How to apply

With soap and a clean cloth, wipe down the affected area. Then, slice a few pieces of ginger and rub on the skin tags. Don’t wash off the juice and repeat daily for quicker results.

Manuka Honey

Manuka honey is an excellent choice because it’s rich in anti-bacterial properties. When it’s applied to skin tags, it restricts oxygen to the growth and stops the bacterial from thriving causing it to fall off on its own. Furthermore, its healing and moisturising qualities remove the skin tags without leaving behind an ugly scar.

How to apply

Soak a cotton bud with manuka honey and affix to the affected area with a band-aid. Leave on for hours or overnight and repeat as often as possible until the skin tag comes off.

Baking soda

There are actually very few things in the beauty world baking soda cannot remedy. This is because it has the ability to restore the natural pH level of the skin and inhibit the bacteria that cause skin tags. A mixture of baking soda and castor oil can remedy several skin problems as well.

How to apply

Mix castor oil and baking soda in a small quantity and apply on the affected area. Leave overnight or for long hours and wash off with soap and water afterward.

Good to note

Toothpaste is rumored to be a great way to remove skin tags but it’s not advisable because the menthol in it can cause adverse reactions on the skin. Also, it makes the skin dry and shrinks skin tags in a manner that leaves behind a small growth or an ugly scar.
