The makers of PUBG, Krafton, show off a very realistic virtual human named Ana and says it will help establish a Web3 ecosystem.
Built on Unreal Engine, the virtual human’s role in Web3 is still not clearly defined. Krafton has not really provided the details on how it fits with its future plans. However, the company has a reputation for putting hands in as much as possible within the tech space.
For example, it had its hand in some NFT minting at one point and dabbled in blockchain tech as we well. Now, for Ana, the plan seems to be to just make her popular.
Josh Seokjin Shin, head of Krafton’s creative center, said: “We expect her to attract the interest and popularity of Gen Z around the world. Ana will release an original music track and expand her scope of activity as an influencer into various areas across entertainment and esports.”
Virtual humans will be a focus in Web3 and even Metaverse and Krafton is preparing itself to enter the foray. Although, this is not the first time a virtual influencer has been attempted. What will set Krafton’s creation apart is the technology behind it and its functionalities.
We will have to wait until the game makers can reveal more about Ana, and they already promised to do so later in the year. There is even a mention of it having a unique story arc as well.
