In a dramatic turn of events, the police have arrested Funke Akindele-Bello for breaking the law by hosting a party during lockdown.
The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana confirmed her arrest.
Speaking to The Punch Newsmen, Bala Elkana said: “Yes, we have (arrested) Funke Akindele and we are looking for the others. She has been taken to SCID.”
Funke fondly called Jenifa threw a birthday bash for her husband Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz on Saturday 4th April despite lockdown rule in Lagos State. In attendance were actress Eniola Badmus, Controversial music artiste Naira Marley and several others.
The celebrant JJC Skillz posted videos of the bash on his Instagram stories which alerted public attention and consequent criticisms.
Funke however in a video apologized to her fans, explaining why she held the party.

She’s is being remanded in the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba Lagos.
Recall that Funke Akindele-Bello is an ambassador for Dettol and NCDC. She has appeared in several ad videos advising the general public to wash their hands and practice social distancing. Hence, her actions have been termed misleading and downright dangerous.
The police have launched a manhunt for others seen in not the video. They have also given a directive that Naira Marley and JJC Skillz report at the State CID Yaba on Monday. Failure to do this and they’ll be declared wanted.
The Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for persons found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.
