“Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” Becomes Netflix’s Naija’s Most Viewed Film

Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz’s “Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” has marked yet another milestone achievement.

The box office film has now become the most-watched Nigerian Title on Netflix.

The comedy sequel has remained on the streamer’s top 10 list as the longest-running title for a Nollywood picture with a total of 98 days according to Flix Patrol.

This new achievement comes behind the film becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time breaking the four-year record formally held by Kemi Adetiba’s film, “The Wedding Party”.

In a statement released by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria, “Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” has so far grossed ₦468,036,300 after holding the number one spot for its third week in a row.

“Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” broke a four years record by knocking off Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 Comedy film, “The Wedding Party”.

The META Cinema Conference in the United Arab Emirates also crowned “Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” Africa’s highest-grossing film of 2020/21.

“Omo Ghetto (The Saga)” was released on 25th December 2020 sequel to 2010 “Omo Ghetto”.

The film follows the tale of twin sisters leading separate lives. However, they are reunited by a series of dramatic twists.

The comedy film stars Funke Akindele in the dual role of Ayomide and Lefty. Tina Mba, Adebayo Salami aka Oga Bello, Chioma Akpotha, Bimbo Thomas also feature in the film.

Others are Eniola Badmus, Deyemi Okanlawon, Zubby Michael, Mercy Aigbe, Timini Egbuson and Alex Ekubo.
