Her action generated a lot of controversies among Nigerians who viewed Teni’s conduct as a total disrespect to the office of the presidency.

Some were of the opinion that Teni has not contributed anything to national growth and development to warrant her nomination for a national award.

Meanwhile, some people commended the manner in which Teni received the award stating that President Buhari deserves no respect from Nigerians considering how his government has made life so terrible for his citizens for the past seven years he assumed office.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of Monday, 10th October 2022, a Twitter user Malachi Chidiebere Aboh accused Teni of instructing her security to beat up a fan.

The incident happened at The Dome Event Centre in Asaba, and according to Malachi, the bouncer beat up the fan without cause on Teni’s orders as the cops looked on.
