Wade McCrae Washington and BJ Glaze – both 47 – are husband and wife with a severe form of cerebral palsy. Also diagnosed with scoliosis, a rare spinal disease, managing daily activities hasn’t been easy. In spite of this, the duo has gone on ahead to become bodybuilding champions.
With the help of their expert trainer, Tina Chandler, and motivator Carl Ducena, Wade was able to begin bis bodybuilding journey. Now, he has become a World Champion in the Adaptive Bodybuilding Division. Although he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 11 months, he hasn’t let this hold him back.
His wife, BJ, joined him in his fitness quest after his first win, and the pair have now become a fierce contender. Tina and Carl, who play a pivotal role in the lives of the couple, also began a ‘Normal To Be Fit’ campaign. They use this medium to aid those like Wade and BJ to stay fit.
The couple is an inspiration to others to never let their circumstance limit their dreams.
They met more than 20 years ago at college in Houston, Texas where they live presently. Quitting has never been an option for them.
